About Our Puppies & Training
At Yorkies of Maui, each of our purebred Traditional Yorkies and designer Chocolate Yorkiepoos is raised right in our home with warmth, structure, and love. From the moment they’re born, our puppies are part of our daily lives — receiving gentle handling and early exposure to the sights and sounds of a busy, loving household.
We begin foundational training early to help every puppy grow into a confident, social, and well-adjusted companion. Our early development program includes:
- Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
- Startle recovery and desensitization exercises
- Daily individual socialization and handling
- Mild obstacle play and problem-solving challenges
- Introductory potty training on grass starting at 3.5–4 weeks old
By the time your puppy is ready to go home, they’ll have received their first vaccinations, deworming by a licensed veterinarian, and a strong, healthy start — both physically and emotionally.
We believe the first few weeks of a puppy’s life shape everything, and we are fully committed to giving each one the best beginning possible.
Parents Health
At Yorkies of Maui, the health of our puppies begins with the health of their parents.
All of our mamas and studs are DNA tested through Embark to screen for a broad range of genetic conditions. This allows us to make thoughtful, informed breeding decisions focused on producing puppies with strong health, sound structure, and exceptional temperaments.
We are proud to raise Yorkies that are not only stunning in appearance, but also vibrant, healthy, and true to the breed standard — giving your future companion the best foundation possible.
Puppys Health
Every Yorkies of Maui puppy receives their first set of vaccinations and deworming from a licensed veterinarian before going home.
We follow a responsible veterinary care schedule to ensure each puppy starts life healthy and protected. Puppies go home with detailed health records, making it easy for their new families to continue timely care with their own vet.
The next round of vaccinations is typically due about three weeks after going home.
Our goal is to send every puppy home with a strong, healthy start — and peace of mind for their forever family.

Early Training

• Daily Socialization: Individual handling and affection to encourage bonding and trust.
• Exposure to Household Life: Sounds like vacuuming, TV, and other normal activities help puppies feel comfortable in a real home.
• Obstacle & Problem-Solving Play: Age-appropriate challenges to boost curiosity and independence.
• Intro to Potty Training: Puppies are introduced to going potty on grass starting around 3.5–4 weeks.
This early work helps our puppies become more adaptable, confident, and ready to bond with their new families from day one.
Potty Training
We begin introducing potty training as early as 3.5 to 4 weeks old.
While our puppies are still too small to go outside, we start with an indoor potty training routine using a designated potty area. As they grow, they learn to associate this space with bathroom time, building a strong foundation for outdoor training once they’re older and ready to explore.
This early potty training sets our puppies up for long-term success and makes the transition smoother for their new families.
Home package
We make sure each of our Yorkie puppies heads home with a few comforting and helpful essentials to ease their transition into your family.
Each puppy goes home with:
- A small bag of premium puppy food 🍼
- A favorite toy they’ve bonded with 🧸
- A cozy blanket with their mother’s scent 🛏️
- Shot and deworming records from our licensed vet 📋
